Margaret Cardoza


Margaret was born with a developmental disability and experienced life without laws or inclusion. Persevering, she obtained a Bachelors in Social Work and Human Developments’ Child and Family Interactions and later a Master’s in Education. She has a LSW and is a member of MOOSE, Maine Organization of Storytelling Enthusiasts.

She was trained and worked with Paige Barton, the Founder of Speaking Up for Us, as the Self Advocacy Coordinator for Community Partners. After learning about the Supported Decision Making Model, Margaret is working with Disability Rights Maine to support and encourage it’s growth throughout Maine.
